In addition to digital radio programs via DAB+, the small device also receives all FM stations available at the location and is able to play MP3 music files from connected USB data carriers. The two-line LCD shows helpful information about the current radio program; the large memory for favorites and the four freely assignable direct selection buttons ensure a high level of operating convenience. In addition to the headphone output, the TECHNIRADIO RDR has an AUX-IN interface, which you can use to connect external music sources such as a smartphone. Simply connected to your home network, you can listen to a variety of music, news and entertainment channels without having to worry about the power supply. The STERNRADIO IR 2 has a BL5C battery that can be easily replaced and thus enables the device to be used spontaneously and flexibly wherever WiFi is available. For quick and easy operation, five radio stations are pre-programmed via direct selection buttons, including STAR*SAT RADIO, radio B2, radio GOLD, Klassik Radio and Deutschlandfunk. These keys can also be assigned individually. The large color display shows a list of internet radio stations by top stations, genres and countries, which can be selected with a handy scrolling navigation wheel. In addition, you can save your personal favorites and have access to a variety of sound effects for falling asleep and waking up, such as raindrops, piano music and birdsong. The STERNRADIO IR 2 also offers helpful alarm, snooze and sleep timer functions. The display can be dimmed if desired and switched from a full color display to a monochrome view in black and gray tones. Local weather information can also be shown on the display in standby mode. As an alternative to Internet radio, you can also listen to music from connected playback devices such as MP3 players via AUX-IN or stream music from your home network to the integrated speaker via UPnP. Headphones can also be connected via a 3.5mm jack. With the AirMusic Control App you can even control the STERNRADIO IR 2 via smartphone or tablet. The device can be completely disconnected from the power supply with the power switch on the back.
